BerryDunn is pleased to share highlights from its milestone 50th anniversary year. Throughout 2024, the firm created opportunities to celebrate its clients, communities, and people, giving back to the places where they live and work.
“BerryDunn is built on a strong foundation of community trust,” said CEO Sarah Belliveau. “Throughout our 50th anniversary year, we continued to deepen the lasting relationships that brought us to where we are today as an award-winning leader in our industry and communities. We’re looking ahead to another 50 years of putting people, clients, and communities first.”
A highlight of BerryDunn’s anniversary year was its “50 Acts of Caring” initiative, which inspired employees to provide community service to local nonprofits in their area. BerryDunn employees worked with organizations like Portland Parks Conservancy, Partners for World Health, Maine State Society for Protection for Animals, Jefferson City’s Washington Park, Jacksonville’s Camp “I am Special”, and Girl Scouts of America in Kailua, Hawaiʻi.
Now a half-century in business, BerryDunn attributes its success and longevity to the power of its people and the values, which include integrity, authenticity, curiosity, collaboration, and harmony, that guide the firm's decisions internally and externally. Its teams work collaboratively to help clients tackle their biggest operational challenges so they can focus on improving services for citizens, patient care, and everything in between.
This past year saw significant growth in several service areas, including outsourced accounting, business valuation, nonprofit and governmental accounting, and state and local government consulting services. For the third year in a row, the firm was recognized as a Top 50 accounting firm, and two BerryDunn Principals, Tammy Michaud, CPA, and Dave Erb, CPA, made the Forbes inaugural list of America’s Top 200 CPAs 2024. The firm closed out the year with a successful merger with Burzenski & Company, an East Haven, Connecticut-based firm focused on veterinary practice and construction industries.
Since opening its first office in Portland, Maine, in 1974, BerryDunn has grown into the largest assurance, tax, and consulting firm headquartered in New England. The firm’s employees live and work in 51 US states and territories, providing services to thousands of clients in more than 30 industries.
