Valerie has had wide-ranging healthcare industry experience over the last 20 years, from hands-on clinician to research at a large academic medical center. She began her career as a clinician, working as a registered nurse in critical care areas in various hospital settings. Valerie’s time providing patient care showed her firsthand how health policy decisions translate into practice, prompting additional studies and experience in practice management, healthcare quality and accreditation, risk management, and compliance.
