Challenge
A private, not-for-profit, multi-campus Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) sought to foster continued education, community engagement, and resident health and wellness. Understanding that technology would play a key role, they sought to create a strategic technology plan to establish an innovative, sustainable, efficient IT environment.
Solution
In order to develop a strategic technology plan to help them reach their goals, the CCRC first needed to assess their current technology platform and tools. BerryDunn’s team worked with staff and resident stakeholders to create a clear picture of the current technology environment and pinpoint specific opportunities for short and long-term improvements. They did this by:
- Reviewing existing technology documentation; policies and procedures; frameworks; and other relevant information
- Developing resident and staff questionnaires in advance of on-site work sessions
- Facilitating on-site work sessions to understand staff and resident perspectives of technology strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
- Conducting additional follow-up work sessions to prioritize and plan for key strategic projects
Outcome
BerryDunn produced a strategic technology plan to align with the vision and guiding principles of the CCRC. This plan helped prioritize strategic initiatives and provided a structured, repeatable approach to undertaking future projects. This solution helped the CCRC streamline technology use; standardize the technology platform across campuses; and support continued education, community engagement, and resident health and wellness.
