Challenge

Based on requirements from a MITA State Self-Assessment 3.0, a Medicaid agency sought better management of its data to improve operations and enterprise-wide business decisions. Although the agency had fundamental pieces of enterprise management and data governance in place, there were still evident gaps.

• Developed a data management strategy, characterized data types, provided recommendations to implement the current data management strategy, and planned for data maturity and evolution

Outcome

With a data management strategy in place, the agency gained control over the technologies supporting its data architecture, the vendors managing technology, the data owners, and the requirements for effective stewardship of the data architecture.
