DWD Finance Department seeks to optimize operations to meet surge in grants

Client description 

The DWD provides career services and Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits to Hoosiers. The Finance Department of DWD provides financial services to DWD in the areas of accounting, grant accounting, analysis and reconciliation, budget and financial analysis, and grants, contracts, and procurement.

The challenge 

DWD engaged BerryDunn to help ensure that the Finance Department had an effective organizational structure, up-to-date training processes and procedures, and staff availability to efficiently intake and process an increased number of competitive grants received.
