The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Health Insurance Exchange and Integrated Eligibility System (MA HIXIES)

Challenge

MA HIXIES Project was undertaken to implement a user-friendly, state-based exchange to support Open Enrollment and leverage ACA opportunities.

Solution

On an ongoing and independent basis, BerryDunn:

• Reviews deliverables and validates federally required testing and test results, issuing independent reports
• Continually assesses system integrators’ project plan and schedule
• Conducts financial reviews to assess adherence to the approved cost allocation plan, and monitors financial management plan progress
• Identifies opportunities for reusability of components/plans

Outcome

The state receives early warning of risks and practical recommendations to help prevent impacts to the project. BerryDunn tracks issues until they have been resolved or acknowledged by the state.
