Karen is a Senior Consultant in our Local Government Practice Group who specializes in helping her clients transform their organizations, improve processes, and strengthen the connection to their communities. Her experience as a public sector leader in small and large local governments spans 19 years, giving her a keen ability to place herself in her clients’ shoes, work with varied stakeholder groups, and develop recommendations that consider available resources—as well as innovation and industry best practices.
During her time working in local government organizations, Karen’s leadership roles ranged from working as an assistant town manager for a town of 15,000 residents to playing a key role at the City of Charlotte, NC, which is home to nearly 900,000 residents. She boasts a significant track record of successfully building consensus, solving complex problems, and navigating diverse political environments to implement the policy vision of elected leaders.
